the problem is that the voewl sounds vary depending on the consonants? that come either side of the sound

Are the symbols in this video the same the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary uses? When I look for "love" and "cut", for example, I can see they begin with the same vowel sound (?) but if I click on the listen button ,? they DON'T sound the same! Love sounds more like "l?v" while Cut sounds more like "k?t". Why is this? Is there any video on your channel where you say the word "Brother"?

As pure Russian for five generations I? could remark that the consonants in Russian have usually strong sounds as in German language. Like a Latin Russian has seven cases of nouns, like a German Russian has three genders of nouns. In Russian the perfect tenses of verbs are absent - but the Russian (Cyrillic) alphabet contains 33 letters and it is based on Greek origins, not Latin - it represents itself the main difficulty for foreigh students

You can think of it? this way. "Cup" is pronounced as if someone punched you in the stomach - as in "uh". "Cat" is pronounced with a short, sharp sound

I'm Italian and it's not very clear the difference between the sound of "cup" and the sound of "cat", they are very similar. Maybe I'm confused because I have always? pronunced "cat" with an italian /e/ untill now. Was I wrong? Can you please explain me? Thank you.
