Hmm... Likewise the reduction of "are" to "rr". Ha ha. I never do that. It sounds funny for me to even try. Truly. I sometimes reduce "are" to a cross between "uh" and "rr" when contracted as in "What're you doing?", but that is a different scenario than for a non-contracted "are". Needless to say, my student? was quite confused. She didn't know if "fer" and "rr" were proper to learn. I expressed that I thought that it was not a rule but simply an accent that she could choose to follow or not.
