The word (last) has several meanings but the most confusing to me is when it is used as a verb. could? you make a video with some examples. I'm sure many ESL students will be grateful. Thanks for sharing.

You are right in the sentence which you have in brackets. Mustn't doesn't have a past form. So, you must use 'were not allowed to', or 'were not permitted to..' I have a more advanced lesson on modals where this is explained. Try 'Learn English as easy as pie. Lesson 10. Modal verbs' ?

Thank you. You said that? modals verbs don't have past form except cancould. So how to express past tenses in sentences with other modal verbs? Am I correct in this sentence? "You mustn't do this, but now you can (you were not allowed to do this earlier, but now you are allowed)
