@jactivate: Imagine what you would get if you planned earlier! English is all about planning - if you start working on a plan, and developing an essay as the text is being taught, you will be surprised at how much better you will go. Maybe see if your teacher can sit down with you outside of class to help with the concepts? If not, a tutor/coach might be a good option as well. @MrRageQuitter: English can be easy - in Year 11 and 12 unfortunately its largely about knowing what the markers? want!

But honestly, I think they should teach Philosophy instead of English. They? would be more appreciated than just being called English teachers... I know it's a Uni Degree, but that's the same for Engineering Studies.

Definitely! Although I must admit, English is very important. If only I understood concepts and what not it would probably be much? easier. My best subjects would have to be IT, IPT, Engineering Studies. Best Year 11/12 subjects EVER!

Don't you feel that if English wouldn't be compulsory or you didn't? have to do it, HSC would be MUCH easier?

I try so hard for English. I usually plan? what I'm going to write for my essays a few days before my exams and usually get a "just pass" for English (Something like 12/20). I think my English is definitely going to drop my overall HSC/ATAR mark.
