Helen means she expects her dad to say "but" followed by something? that went wrong about the flat renovation. "the flat renovation was going really well, (but).........."

What kind of difference do you native speakers of English perceive between "Have you finished?" and "Are? you finished"?

Alisa, Helen?s dad says: The renovation was going on very well... and Helen somehow feels that there will be a "but" at the end of his sentence, she kind of knows that something did not work perfectly and she is waiting for her dad to tell her what? the problem was... She feels that her dad will tell her about this problem soon... She feels a "but" coming. :-) Hope this helps a bit? have a great day.
