Others is only used for saying "the others", like... I got 10 apples from the store but I left the others for later. ie I got 10 apples from the store and I left 20 other ones for? later. Only 2 of the bananas are green. The others are yellow. Use "other" for everything else I think.... "another". I want another one (one more). There is another apple over there. I'd like another glass of water please. Another day of sunshine.

You can use "get" in many ways. I got a pencil from the store. I got a hamburger. I got a speeding ticket while driving. Did you get the groceries from the store? ...... If you tell a joke, you can say, "do you get it?" (Do you understand). I get you (I know what you are talking about). If you do a prank "I got him real good!", if you are from Southern USA, "I got some guns in? my closet" (replace 'have' with 'got')
