@wdreamon Hi @wdreamon. Let me try and explain this joke for you. To say "to cross something with" is considering if you mix the two things together what would they make? A stereo is a machine that plays CDs, cassette tapes, radio, possible an MP3 player or? some other audio using two speakers. A refrigerator is the long version of the word fridge, which is used to store and keep food and drinks cool. So we end up with cool (from the fridge) and music (from the stereo). Does that make sense?

Very funny! this is my first time to heard about Cristmas cracker actually, so? interesting. Well, I think this jokes makes us to understand the meaning behind the words even when we hear the similar sound of it but actually they have a different meaning. Purpose and porpoise has similar sound but different meaning. "you did it on purpose" is a fixed phrase that you can used to blame someone who did something wrong.
